I have serious difficulties seeing the TOT maps clearly. This can't be a new objection. Anyone see any way to improve brilliance?

Thanks very much for the link. I've tried a few other mods but none was entirely satisfactory. Will give these a look see. How could someone have designed a program this "dark"?

Maybe try one of the mods at The Cradle of Civilization - Cedars.

Poor programming, not poor monitor settings are the problem, sad to say. I've been playing with some of the mods, but haven't found a single one that's totally satisfying. Probably end up going back to CivII or cutting and pasting from various mods I've examined.

Maybe you could just adjust your monitor settings? For some people, that was the real problem.

I know many people have had problems with both the darkness of the terrain and the blurriness of the units. Well, I'd just like to say I've never had a problem with them.-Variety is the spice of life, but it gives me indegestion-

i did the "cut and paste" technic from other mods, but im still not satisfied with the graphics.
the big problem is the units, i like the animation but they are so blur (exept the elephant unit).
so can some one do some new graphics for the game, better graphic should make it live longer on my pc until civ3 will come out.
and what about the spirt editor program?-is there another way to edit the spirt files?

I can't imagine why you would prefer Civ 2's graphics to Civ 2 ToT's. At any rate, I have borrowed Civ 2 MGE to play the included scenarios, and all I can say about the color scheme is OUCH! I'm blinded by the excessive color. It's "angry fruit salad." I'm glad they toned it down for ToT; it looks less cartoonish.
