It doesn't work for PBEM if you play it as MP, it works if you play it as hotseat.

With Raging Hordes the most barbarians I've ever seen in a stack is 61 (discovered when a solo cavalry that I had just bribed won a battle against that stack and I received the "61 units destroyed" message).

Your 72-unit stack is probably far from the largest that you could see with Barbarian Wrath.
