prob with extended game

Ok, I sent the spaceship to centaury and expected to have some settlers appear on the surface...but no; just a nice view of the world...Where did I go wrong?

Have you downloaded and installed the patch? This is usually the #1 cause of problems with the Extended Game - civilization.gamestats.com/cgi-bin/civ2files/file.pl?id=334 (3.4MB in size).

That happened to me too (and yes ive got the patch)

I didn't get to AC first though - the chinese beat me to it - do you only get settlers if you are the first to get there?

Did you start a new game after you installed the patch? Unfortunately, games saved before you installed the patch aren't retroactively fixed by the patch, so the errors would still be in there.

It's been a while, but if I remember right, only the first civilization to reach Centaurus gets free settlers. The others have to find a way to transport some "up" there.
