  • Wierd MP experience.

I was playing a hotseat game on a small map with 7 civs with a friend. We doubled production and movement with accelerated start. Things went fine until my friend met my unit for the first time. Instantly, the CPU tells him that my leader (Japanese) wanted to speak with him (Yeah, thanks for asking you stupid computer......) Instantly, the CPU took over negotiations for me. My friend gleefully took advantage of the AI forcing it to a) trade valuble techs, pay HIM 200 tribute, AND go to war for him for a mere 50 GP!!!! And that was AFTER I PAID HIM THE 200 TRIBUTE! My friend, of course, took some sadistic pleasure out of doing this. When it came my turn, I called him up immediately bringing out HIS AI negotiator. I extracted 100 GP out of him for tribute but that that was pretty much it....... *sigh* Anyways, The whole negotiating thing with AI doing negotiating for you is PRETTY sad..... Oh well. Funny though!

You need to set your attitude toward his civilization so that stuff like that is less likely to happen. It doesn't help with the first meeting, but after that you have some control...
