    John are there any conditions under which the @Civilize2 and/or @Leaders2 can be turned off?

    I'm tring to help Archangel debug a rules.txt where civs can reseach techs that they have been prohibited from researching and owning by @Civilize2 and @Leaders2. Archangel and I have both triple checked the code and it is good, none-the-less, it simply has no effect.

    Hmm...sounds weird.

    The system those two control is kind of quirky. When I had problems, I generally zeroed out both sections, commenting out my old numbers with semicolons, then started in again one field at a time.

    You can't really turn them off. Zeroing out is the next best thing, however. As a shortcut, you can copy & paste both sections from the Original Game rules.txt; that's what I did.

    If you want to, send me the file. I don't know how soon I'll be able to look at it, but I'll see if I can spot anything.
