  • Escape from Sol Scenario V1.0 Alpha Now available

    Yes folks,

the Test of Time scenario I have been working on for the last few weeks is now available for download from :
    http://www.users.bigpond.com/kestrel17

For further details see the Overview Synopsis which can be found at :
    http://www.users.bigpond.com/kestrel17
    /UM-OVIEW.htm

Yet more details can be found in the embedded read-me file and in the Civilopedia.

Doubtless it still contains one or two bugs, but it appears to play-test O.K. and most things even work (gasp) !

    Any constructive criticism welcomed.

    Enjoy,

    Kestrel17@Bigpond.com

        Whoops,

Note all that the latest Escape-from-Sol zip on my web-site is currently 'bad'.

        (Looks like an incomplete upload)

        I will repost tonight.

O.K. I've uploaded the Zip again, hopefully that has fixed the problem.

(When I re-downloaded it seemed to be O.K.)

          Sorry about that folks...

Hey, I was reading the file, sounds cool. I am going to test out the scenario. Also, how can you make scenarios on this game with extra maps? Do you have to use the import and export commands?

Hey Dj, the way you make multiply maps in a scenario is you import them into the game. But remember, importing maps doesn't always work. You can only use 1 map in the original game and 2 in the extended game. The fantasy and Sci-fi can use all 4 maps. Just import them when your building the scenario. .....Civfan

(Hey Civfan, before school started, were you the one on mns gaming zone with me playing Civ 2? This is dvqh.) Anyways, I don't have much time on the internet like in the summer, so can you kinda be more specific about how this works? This is what I know so far: On the orginal game you only have one map in which you can't use the import command. Well I tried using it on the fantasy game to import a map from the Masters of Orion scenario in Civ2MG and I couldn't. Do you have to use the sicfi senario to import other maps?

Hey Kestrel, you scenario is awesome. (I haven't finish it yet though.)I think I see where you were coming at in having the technology the way it is in the future. Did you paint the teleports? Oh.. one more thing, Civfan, I did try to place another map in the original game which worked, but I couldn't place any teleports to get to the other map and I also couldn't place another map in the game. What should I do?

(Boy have I been off the internet for a while now. It's surprising that I can still remember my password. What do you think MarkG, if you out there. My next visit my be next year. YIKES!!!!!)
