Renaming ToT scenario folders

I am trying to sort out the hundreds of scenarios, graphics, utilities and other CivII stuff on my hard-drive.

I want to organize my ToT scenarios folder by renaming the scenario folders but I seem to remember having problems in the past with scenarios not functioning after I had renamed them.

Did I just imagine this or are ToT scenarios sensitive to having their folder name altered?

For example I would like to rename the Lost Legion folder from: 17028_LostLegions_1_1 to: Lost Legions 1.1 (Cyrion).

Shouldn't be a problem.

I rename/change my ToT folders quite regularly, and get no trouble.

When I download a scen, whether MGE or TOT, the source zip/rar goes into a folder named whatever I consider suitably descriptive. I never play in a download folder, so it doesn't matter what I call it.

For play, I make a new folder on desktop and make sure that it's name does not contain minus signs [ - ], the only thing that I know of that may cause problems. Beyond that, in order to put the play folder at the top of the list when I begin a scen or open a game, I tend to name the folders "A RED OCTOBER". "A WWII EUROPA".

I do too. Didn't that other Tuttle (not HT) have a problem with spaces in his scen files?

I think I remember I experienced some problems with "." in my folder names (in MPGE)!

I think I finally used something like "Lost Legions 1_1" instead! (I don't know if the "(" makes a problem or not).

Thanks. I must have imagined this problem or maybe included an illegal character in a previous rename and got the wrong end of the stick!

A always rename MGE folders and now I can apply the same system to my ToT scenarios
