      Thanks a bundle McMonkey!

Here's the map converted to Freeciv's sav.gz format - now to add back those cities and units...

BTW, does anyone know who is the original author of this map? This is important if we want it to be published on freeciv.org!

As far as I am aware John Ellis made the map. I don't recall anything in the players notes to say it was made by anyone else!

If you want to keep it simple, start with the King raising his standard and end with defeat in the field for either King or Parliament.

If you want to try something more complex (and realistic), the sides should include the Irish and the Scots and Parliament should split into Independents and Presbyterians. Victory would be the conquest of the British Isles - but does the map include Scotland and Ireland?

No the map is focused on England only. It could of course be expanded, but that might be outside the scope of this first ever Freeciv scenario project. Maybe for the sequel...

I started plotting cities manually, but realized it might be a waste of time working more on the map before nation and terrain data is in place.

So let's start making some design decisions!
                • *How many sides, and who?
*Standard civ2-style terrain, or a custom set? Remember that Freeciv supports any number of terrain types.
                  *Start outlining a tech tree!

This may be far fetched, but is there any way one could convert simple civ2 scenarios to freeciv format, and use that as a base?
