German Camouflage Information?

Hi there!

Can anyone provide some data on the changes (year by year) of WW2 German tank/AFV camouflage?

I would appreciate any pointers on what dates they used the blaugrau schemes and when they adopted dunkelgelb, ovilgrun, etc!

Early '43 was the switchover from dunkelgrau or blaugrau to dunkelgelb and by Kursk everything was painted tricolour. Initially units were supplied with olivgrun and rotbraun to paint up the dunkelgelb factory-painted tanks a variety of tricolour camo schemes, and eventually the camo schemes were painted at the factory. By late 44 / early 45 the tanks were painted first rotbraun primer only and subsequently olivgrun only and units applied their own camo with the other 2 colours. The Pz Lehr tanks in Hungary in '45 were turned out in factory-finished green only without applying camo. Late on in the War in 45 the camo i used on the Panther 2 came out of the factories.

I also add that in 37-39 a camo was used that consisted mainly of grey and brown and -> smaller green fields ( used in Manöver, washed off afterwards )

This Pattern was used till 1940 ( according to some sources ), but the devil, i never found a colourpic showing me that pattern in 1940.

Then afterwards they went to the Fieldgrey till early 1943.
