    Hm.

    Well, one idea, and I'm not sure what this is worth, but it would make something interesting...

    Make the heroine a "defensive" unit. That is, she can hold against monsterous attacks much more easily than the other heroes (less capable offensively, to balance things).

    Pomarj doesn't have enough undead or that sort of thing for there to be any way to use Civ's powers to make "versus X" mean "versus undead" in play, and "spells" outside "blast 'em" are hard to represent.

    Failing that, I'd say another knight after thinking about it. That seems best.

      AGRICOLA, as quoted by Jerec has it. Use the 'Describe' file I used in one of my scenarios, which should have the full # of spots for the civilopedia. The problem is that you are probably using one made for MGE, without the extra slots.

          The describe file was guilty indeed!

          I played for the first 21 turns, taking 4 cities and building another one!

          Things seem to have been sped up indeed!

          I'll correct the few things I noticed and restart: we'll see whether the acceleration is valid for the whole game!

              The congrats might be a bit too in advance, since I'm still far from the end of the road...

              RL is quite busy now, but I hope to be able to solve the matter of the "timing" of the events on the main map next week (that's a bit optimistic, though: you have to set high goals if you want to achieve anything... ).

              I have been understanding a few subtilities with the flags and they now work as I wanted.

              To follow your suggestion regarding the bandits, I intend to do the following: once you capture some cities, you'll get a tech which will allow you to build a (unactive) wonder! Once the wonder is built, no more bandits will appear in the area (I'll probably use 3-4 cities/techs/wonders/areas).

              2 questions:
              1) what do you think of that?
              2) how should I call the Wonders?

                I think it is a very good idea. It does an excellent job, within ToT's events, of doing what I suggested/wanted.

                Regarding wonder names...

                Rule of Law.
                Royal Pomarjian Mounted Police (okay, that one is a bit silly, but something like "patrol" or "guard")
                Law and Order
                Restoration of Pomarj (since as I recall, this is attempting to liberate the realm from the bad guys, not carving out a new one)

                Something along those lines.

                  As I'll use several Wonders, I was thinking of something along the line of "whatever of City X" or "whatever of the North Province", so that I could re-use the name and just change the area!

                  But then remains the matter of what the "whatever" should stand for...

                      North Province Keep

                      Event space permiting, here's my idea...

                      You build the wonder. Events switch off brigand spawning in the area.

                      You lose the city. Events switch brigand spawning back on.

                      You retake the city. Events switch brigand spawning back off.

                      Its probably doable, but the amount of event space needed might be an issue.

                      Keep being picked as a full out castle sems more like a "Defense" wonder, but the presence of a keep is a sign that the ruler is fairly firmly in control of an area.

                      It also reads better to see "(City name) builds North Province Keep" than "(City name) builds North Province Mounted Constabulary."

                        Technical question

                        I have a problem which I'm sure someone will find a solution to...

                        Here it is: in the MPEG version of the scen, when an humanoid city is taken, the "local" version of partizans appear (gnolls); the humanoids are then a Theocracy and possess only 2 techs: Guerilla Warfare and Fundamentalism.

                        In the TOT version, the Humanoids have exactly the same techs, but the partizan don't show up!

                        Is there a difference between the 2 versions regarding that point? and how could I provide the nice gnolls partizans to help the poor humanoids resist the ugly humans?

                            No, there are no impassable terrain (yet?)!

                            It's really weird, because no Gnolls appeared when I took the 4 first humanoids cities (and Gnolls did appear in the MPGE version) but some Gnolls appeared once I took the 5th Humanoids city!

                                I have to confess that between a really busy time at work, a short trip to Scotland and the European Championship here in Switzerland, I haven't done much progress yet...

                                But as my gf is away for the week-end, I hope to put in a few good testing turns!
