Call To Power 2 Cradle 3+ mod in progress: https://apolyton.net/forum/other-games/call-to-power-2/ctp2-creation/9437883-making-cradle-3-fully-compatible-with-the-apolyton-edition
Has anyone made one? I would dearly love to get my hands on the standard Units.gif for a standard single player/multiplayer game using the Fairline style (But not TOT, just bog standard 256k colours).
Any contendors? LOL

I remember a while back someone had a similar question for standard ToT units, and the end result was quite afew of the forum's best unit enthusiasts posting they're take on what the standard ToT single player unit file should look like. My personal favorite was the one Curt assembled, though for some reason I never downloaded it and I can't find the thread anymore .
It would be curious though to see what a standard unit.gif made up exclusively of Gareth's units from 2007 would look like, more than a decade now after the original vanilla units release.
Does anyone know of any modpacks that improve the Civ2 tech tree?
I would dearly love to see a tech tree that is represented by different ages, like in Civ 4 - After you've researched the required areas for the ancient ages, for example, there will be one remaining technology to research called "Middle Ages". As soon as a player reaches the Middle ages all of the units of the Ancient Age become obsolete, and early Middle Age units are ready for building (which can be improved to better units within that age).
Does anyone know what I'm trying to get at?
I also think that the wonders should be moved around slightly, or altering the technologies that make them obsolete. Leonardo's workshop for me always seems like a wonder that's far too powerfull in my humble opinion.

That's a great idea. I use a mod with my vanilla ToT which makes the phalanx an early offensive unit while weakening archers and horsemen, adds arquibusiers before musketeers, biplanes before monoplanes, and adds torpedo planes before cruise missiles. I've always wanted to do a complete revision of Civ2, using all the extras of ToT. I've never managed to get around to it though.

Could you post that rules file please. Sounds like fun!
I have never liked how quickly the ancient era of vanilla CivII passes. By the time I have got enough troops together to start some proper warfare I am getting Musketeers! I wish there was a way to slow down the ancient era!
