Call To Power 2 Cradle 3+ mod in progress: https://apolyton.net/forum/other-games/call-to-power-2/ctp2-creation/9437883-making-cradle-3-fully-compatible-with-the-apolyton-edition
I downloaded the game before I went on holiday and took a look. I really liked the intro, sets the scene very well. The graphics are supurb, the map is nice and big with varied terrain and lots of cities. I look forward to playing when I get home. Think I will need to have a good look through the read me to get to grips with all the factions.
I have just launched the scenario. I played some turns. It is graphically superb. The sounds are very well too.
My first impression is more than positive.
Small detail to be modified: in Kanegsvalt, in the list of city improvement there is a NONE.
PS : Each new bitterfrost is a real pleasure to play
"Man dude i love metal girls, but where the heck do these young chicks that behave like hiphopladies with pink
skulls come from, man, they even drink wine, not sacred beer, oh dude, world is going to change..."
This were the last words of the former Emperor of the Vorak Shoganate.
Long live our War Shogun, Emperor Tajima ( In honor to an old japanese friend that died from cancer, may he
rest in peace under his ancestors ).
So lets take a look at Zarklaw island. We've got Cobalt and Bronze. Bronze? I thought you must melt bronze
from copper and tin, well but this is Zarklaw island, and it is even better that we can mine pure Bronze, so my
armies will be battleready faster.
The mountains even sported Tiberiu.... er Zeegun ( Whatever this is ).
Walhalla,... er Vodanhalla lies in the middle of the Islandlake, with BiG Papa Herik as leader of the always
wary Zatarns ( Far cousins from our gray babes ), demanding 25 Gold Coins per Season. ( Man the very happy
with very little those days, a modern day politican would demand 250 Gold every month ).
My good old friends the skullheads already wreak havoc on the island, looks like they are having a lot of fun.
hehehe.
My direct neighbours to the north were the Kanegegegegegs to the north and the Stold Zatarn to the south,
which somehow did not like me very much ( Must be because of my bronze and tar monopole ).
My Army was battleready, but at first i followed a strategy of defense. My Ashokaga's fortified in the cities,
while my Kamkurak's patrolled the borderstreets. Tansu caravans mad their Way to Vodanhalla, filling my
moneypocket.
I contacted the shuuk and did a little techtrading with those poor bastards. Hm, but most people kalled me
Killer when i contacted them ? strange ? They also always were wary, even when the official attitude was
even cordial. Maybe the herald had a bad day. I also could not contact the Voodan ?
But the very next turn some drugged Shuuk wreaked Havoc in the northern part pissing of the Kanegs and
myself.
Kammuseargant:"Look swollen shuuks are coming over the hill! Phalanx, get ready, ... , spears down,... "
BOOOOOOMMMMM %/§"$%&%)
Holy crap, walking bombs!
The same turn i got visit from some skeer krusaders ( Yeah, my Empire from Bitterfrost 3 now sets out to
conquer Zarklaw island, muahahaha... ), that nearly flattened one of my coast cities. Luckily my kamkurak
could defeat them.
So i slowly build up forces money and science.
Suddenly the Stold and the Kaneg declared war on me, damn bastards. But they payed dearly for this. I myself
lead the armies as Shogun on a crusade. At first the border cities on the southern river fell one after another.
Altough we had strong attacks on our flanks by enemy skallags ( fearsome beasts ), but my Ashokaga kept em
in check.
To the north i conquered the two Kaneg cities in the pangho valley and set up defences in the mountains.
After this, there was a cease fire, but the Kaneg and Stold, both did sneak attacks. Voroyoko was suddenly
attacked by a Kaneg Marshall, and only thanks to my fast border Kamkurak i was able to prevent my capital
falling into Kaneg hands.
In the south i deceided to teach the stold a lesson and smash their capital, so that they shut their baggy
mouths. My luck was that the sold also were at war with the Herjaar at this time and on the east banks another
Skeer army landend which set out to attack Stoldaar.
So the storm on Stoldaar began. It was a short but fierce battle and finally i conquered Stoldaar and got the
iron army, Now everyone sought peace with me. Ha, they get what they deserve...
After the fall of Stoldaar the Herjaar started a real "Blitzkrieg" against the stold, smashing the remaining cities
with never seen cruelty.
Funny thing is, that a pirate party with lich king Ralk appeared and wreaked havoc in Vodaan realms ?!?
At the moment, year 20, i am still at war with the vodaan which were called as alliance from the Stold, while
the Herjaar fight them in the south. I think next might be to conquer Vodanhalla, hehehe...
So far, more to come soon...
So my first suggestions:
-> Hiding the Map, it adds for a lot more of tension, and prevents me from looking at Lich king Ralk doing his
daily walk !!!!!
-> Make city walls visible in the city graphic, or did i miss something ?
-> Is it on purpose that i cannot talk to the vodaan Zatarn ?
-> Fenny Swatter + Harry Potter ( Alias Harald Töpfer ) = Funny Swapper
-> Please Check the problem with Lich King Ralk appearing twice.
-> Make the Undead more dangerous!!! They kept loosing cities to inferior mortal armies. Or make some
periodical apperaing "BIG" undead army vie events. Zarklaw is under conquest !
-> Readme.doc needed, urgent, urgent !!!
But overall well balanced units, no complaints from this side, also the terrain and everything else is balanced out superb !
Cheers, Hans!
Looks like you are having fun!
In line with your suggestions, getting a readme for this one is a priority, as will be beefing up the Undead.
On that matter, the liches you see are just leaders under Ralk's command...Members of the zombie aristocracy!
Ralk is the Undead King of Kings! I will add an event or two making some serious Undead conquests...
BTW, if you have some suggestions for the stats on the Undead units, please feel free...
Your input was damned valuable in Bitterfrost III!
PS
My humble salutes and thanks to Honourable War Shogun Hans!
So, next part of the report. After reading the text on the scenario league scen page i am wiser now.
Now it is clear what Zeegun is, same as Tiberium, just for wizards.
The reason for the "isolationism" of the Vodaan lies in their senile king Herik, lol, poor 'ole bastard. But to be senile can have some advantages...
Thanks Curt for explaining about the minor liches.
So to some further problems:
->The Vorak and the Kaneg both share the same colour. It was irritating in some place whe i thought Kaneg catapults belong to me. Could you please change this.
->The Event with the Meat Factory seemed somehow ****ed up.
When the Kaneg make the appropriate invention, all events go through to the point where they have to pay for the factory, altough they start to build the factory in the next turn and finish it several turn's later. ?!? Please check.
-> HIDING THE MAP
-> Some blasted Terrain at the Places were the undead conquered the green realms would look nice, as to show that everything starts to rot and fall apart, once the death are around.
-> Visible City Walls!!!
-> Als made first expiditions into the death conquered realms.
Had a easy going and went straight to Lich King Ralk, killed him and seized 500 Gold. I wondered why this was so easy but after all he's just bones, right? right!
But what about all the other skullheads in those realms ? I had fear that they all would come and revenge their master in a last mad rush, so that you have to fight your way back to the ship.
It would also be useful to prevent reaching king Ralk so early, by some kind of changeterrain event.
Please take this as suggestions, i still had fun in the dead lands, but the last 1/100 was missing.
As for the unit s tats i experimented with the following:
Skura 3 HP 2 FP
Korsir 3 HP 2 FP
Draugir 4 HP 1 FP
Catapult 2 HP 1 FP
Reavir 3 HP 2 FP
Lokarn 4 HP 2 FP
Vight 4 HP 2 FP
Hussir 5 HP 2 FP A 9 D 2
Vightener 5 HP 3 FP A 10 D 3
Narr 1 HP 2 FP A 3 D 3
Ketch 1 HP 2 FP A 6 D 6
Frigatine 2 HP 2 FP A 10 D 8
And now i had some problems with the dead.
They even managed to conquer the last remaining Vodaan city of the old imperion realms and start some kind of conquest. Hehehe, the really were a plague now.
