Enjoy the trip sir, two other people I know have been to or are going to both Italy and Switzerland this year. I guess they make a popular pair those two countries do.

Should you stop in the swiss alps (and namely in Valais, the "Matterhorn canton"), I would gladly pay you a beer!

Lausanne is 45 minutes driving from where I live: if you have spare time there + want to share a beer, we can try to work on our respective diaries...

PS: the only common point I can find between St-Gallen and Lausanne is their "commercial studies" department at the Universities, am I on the right track?

Send your phone number by PM. I'll give you a call when I get there.

You are on the right track, my wife teaches research methods. She's got short gigs at both universities, plus Milan. So I may have some time for a beer.

Word! Only thing I didn't enjoy in Italy was the toilets where you had to stand up and take a ****.

                          Poly mini-meeting

We did make it for a beer with Techumseh yesterday evening, and it was great spending some time with one of the Apolyton giants!

Among the subjects, Techumseh mentioned the meeting he had been trying to organise last year (or 2 years ago?) in Amsterdam, and he'll probably try again soon, so rejoice!

And thanks to Lady Techumseh who showed much patience listening to our theories about Market Garden, Pomarj, Prince of Darkness, Lost Legions, etc, as well as about the dirty crowd lurking around here...

All in all, that was a great evening!

                            Did you take any photos?

No photos, sorry. I thought of that just after Cyrion saw us off on our train to Zurich (and almost accidentaly came with us as he was helping with luggage!)

It was great to meet him, he is a wonderful host and very interesting to talk to. It makes me think that a SL summit in the next year might be an idea worth reviving.

We talked about heading up to find Curt in Nantes, but the failure of the metal festival to include Barry Manilow was simply inexcusable.

We have a few more days in Swtizerland, and then home. Thanks again Vincent, for your wonderful hospitality!
