Hm. I take back my earlier comment. This book of mine (Warlords: Ancient ~Celtic ~ Medieval) has illustrations by him. Absolutely fabulous medieval art.
The writting, not so good, in some places. But McBride's work will be sorely missed.Comment

This is sad indeed.
The master war illustrator himself has passed on.
McBride's genius will live on in his artwork.
As history is kept alive by his creative vision.
I will treasure my Osprey Viking book even more now.
Onward to Valhalla!
