  • Quitting CIV2 forever!

After the failure of my Hard Drive this morning, due to tea being spilled over the PC Case - I have decided
to give up CIV2, and move over to World of Warcraft, which I have been secretly playing for weeks.

I guess making fantasy scenarios was the beginning of my downfall, as I bought WoW 2nd hand from Amazon
to see what it was like, and I was hooked! I find CIV2 to be way too complex now, and WoW offers simple
and pleasing gameplay. To cut a long story short, I have decided to move on.

It's been fun knowing you all, but I must follow my destiny to play aesthetic but mindless MMO games.

    Goodbye, everyone!

This is sad to read, however other civ2 players could find confort in the fact that i have developed a utility which allows for 12 nations in civ2. This way we can at least expect a new age in this game

This is absolutely horrible to hear! Mind, I play WoW myself, but only 1-3 hours a day (maybe that's why my Dwarf Paladin is only 14th level), leaving plenty of time for Civ2, my tabletop RPG life, my writing, and mundane RL. Surely you can find a balance that won't require you leaving us!

Yeah, I mean I'm more into DotA now, than civ2. but I always get time for both.

As some of you may know I'm in law school now, which means I have to schedule everything in my life at least 24 hours in advance.

Unfortunately, I have been required to take an extra clinic requirement, which means I have two hours per week less. Those two hours go in my timetable as DC2/C code, meaning "Discretionary Civ2 or Coitus".

Even more unfortunately, my current boyfriend does not play Civ2, so we can't do that together.

So I will be leaving Civ2 forever, just like the original poster. Those of you who enjoyed my company and miss it may be happy to know that I'm leaving Civ2 for a pastime that is almost equally important.

So I'm sorry to be leaving you all, but the cries are growing louder and more insistent, as the pressure mounts for me to change my position on this issue.

I think the Half-Orc Undead thing gave it away for me. You can't play such a race in WoW.

If he wrote "this is not a joke" then how can it be a joke? That would totally ruin it.
