Ok, so what are the details? We've seen patches and "cracks" that can raise the various limits, but they've been buggy and will only work on systems with the said patch or crack. What does this do? Is it stable? Can it be widely distributed? What are the restrictions?

As you suspect, this is still in development.

A unique aspect of Elys' approach that I like is his "Loader" interface. You can distribute it with your scenario. The user runs the loader, then launches vanilla ToT or MGE. This gives the scenario designer some control over the version used for a particular scenario.

Elys is aware of other patches and is trying to take them into account (e.g. the No CD and low CPU burning patches). Both Catfish and Mercator are helping him test it, and he's been very responsive to there comments. As long as others help him, he'll likely continue the development. All in all, I like the odds of this one succeeding.

Good. Success in programming and ease of use will make this a boon to development.

            Wow!

For TOT, if the unit limit could be increased and the events file enlarged, the AI would actually be able to conduct a pretty decent, semi-intelligent and reactive defence against human players.

Sadly, the more limited events language available in MGE would seem to rule out any such improvement.

Interesting...If this development could be implemented, then CIV2 would have a revolution!

Imagine inceasing the civ-faction count too!

              High hopes for this one!

Best of luck with this project.

I am completely clueless when it comes to things technical but would greatly appreciate the extra freedom and possibilities this would allow in building scenarios!!!

                Keep it up

An increased event memory could mean actual strategic programming to counteract a human player. Cool.

Really a good news to see "our" game still alive !!
and 212 KB for events instead of 20.. . can really be used in a new style, especially w TOT flags i guess.

Would be super nice also an option that in battles force just 1 units to be killed at time as in fortresses.. or as in civ3 ( but not done covering the map of fortresses.. )
