  • Looking for any/all graphics by Fairline, Bebro and others…

Ive been away for civ2/ToT for ages, id more or less given up on it for dead. I recently began browsing for unit art, and came across some really fantastic stuff id never seen before, but only in scattered images. I really want to see more!

Units > everything and anything by Fairline and Bebro! Or anyone else with this style of work
I also loved the units by Kestrel, though it seems he stopped making units a few years ago, and I think I have a collection of all his units.

Cities > everything and anything by Catfish or similar style.

Ive been searching threads and downloading stuff, but my internet connection isn’t great. I was wondering if there are been any handy collections made of these people’s work? (units and city graphics specifically). Ive already been through the ‘showcase’ threads, but I get the feeling there’s a lot more out there.

Well, thanks for any help. And if I’ve missed out anyone else, please feel free to enlighten me!

PS: Where can I find the scenario that goes with these graphics (assuming there is one)? This looks really cool IMO:

    Swordfish!

You have to know the password.

    Just kidding.

Go through the threads in this very forum that are specifically intended to display such stuff. IIRC, there's one each for Pre-steam, colonial/industrial, WWII, Modern, and non-unit.

    Have a blast.

Well, those graphics look to be like they're from La Belle Epoque, but since I've got several versions of that scen on my hard drive, it seems that they might also be from an Imperialism 1870 graphics update, as the LBE British units are all khaki, while your Brits wear read.

Also, I know fairline has done graphic update packs for scenarios such as Nemo's American Civil War and 2194 days of war, though I don't know just where to find them (fairline's sig links to CD-group, but they seem to be down, and I don't know where the files are - maybe you can PM him or something).

But besides that, I'd take Exile's advice and check on the unit graphics threads.

Yeah, I used to have a collection on CDG, but the site has moved and left old content to die....

The units you have there are by Sarsstock BTW. I think he did an upgrade of Brown Man's Burden.

thanks for the info! I will look out for Swordfish's units...

I've already gone through most of the 'showcase' threads. I was kinda hoping there was a bigger collection of graphics somewhere, oh well

Many units are also not showcased, but used in scenarios, so you should get a hold of any CurtSibling, Techumseh, Exile etc. scenarios for marvelous failine graphics.

Yes, Catfish definatly has some great unit collections floating around the forum. As for those mods of Fairline's units posted earlier, I think those were intended for my own little graphical updating of Imperialism, one of my all time favorite scenario's. The reason I say "I think" is because I can't seem to find that file on my own system any more.

I also have to add that like most of the units that bear my sig, they're really glorified cut and paste jobs of Gareth's excellent units, in this case I think I relied heavily on the newest version of the River War unit compilation.
