I have a few issues with this scen I'd like addressed before I fully play my turn.
1)Almost all US units are AA. This makes making a dent at PH, Guam, or Wake near impossible.
2)Japan begins unable to build transports. What's up with that!
3)Thailand, Japan's staunch ally, and a significant launching point for the invasions of Malaya and Burma, is Neutral. Someone didn't do their homework.

WAR TURNS GLOBAL!
Japan attacks US ships in Pearl Harbour, leading the US and British Empire to declare war on Japan (whose already at war with China) and Germany, Japan's distant ally (whose already at war with the UK and USSR), to declare war on the US! Japan sinks a bunch of ships at PH, captures Wake Island, Guam, and Manila from the US and Hong Kong from the UK, but gets mired down and suffers great causalties in China, especially the attempted siege of Chongqing. Japan is still respecting its cease-fire with the USSR for the nonce, and expects the same of Stalin.Attached Files

guys, i started playing my turn but i think that something is wrong here... i mean, EVERY SINGLE UNIT is so damn hard to kill!! i cant believe it.
i have to spend many tanks and infantry or even planes to kill mere soviet infantry or tanks in the open field???
eh... i dont remember this "battle balance" in the previous versions...
i have a wrong version or the final modifications led to these changes that, to be honest, i really dont like. i dont feel counfortable with these stats...
i´m not going to swallow these issues... so, give me your opinions, please.
not a big problem, Japan is the most powerfull civ at the beggining.

I admit killing Chinese infantry was a real challenge, even for bombers. I didn't even capture a single Chinese city on my turn. And the PH attack wasn't nearly as devastating as it was historically. There does indeed seem to be a signficant slant toward defense.

as japan: i could capture: Philippines, some chinesse cities, Vladivostok, Hong Kong, Guam, Wake, and empty PH.
as german: i can capture Kalinin.
with the german:
a non-vet Panzer IV defeat a fortified red infantry. reducing the panzer to 1-10% (energy remanining)
a non-vet panzer III can't defeat a fortified red infantry.
the enemy is reduced to 10% may be.
a non vet fw-190 can defeat a fortified red infantry, being reduced the plane to 10% ( energy remaining).
something risky to do with a 190.
a non-vet Stuka can defeat up to 2 or 3 red infantries!!! the best weapon to clean up the red army. of course, if the stuka becomes veteran then you can beat up to 4 or
5 units.
a non-Vet Heinkel can defeat an unfortified KV-1 heavy tank on grassland. if the soviet tank is fortified, you may need a vet heinkel instead.
a field artillery can defeat one red infantry.
the falljagger is crapp unless it is a veteran one.
anyways, i let you my set of rules here. check the scen with these rules. but i do think it's the same.Attached Files

That sounds correct.. Axis always get Kalinin in first, nothing more and the Japs sounded correct too. However, the Stuka seems strangely powerful.. I guess that's balanced out by the sturmovik then.
The fallschirmjager is not supposed to be the best fighting unit, because it can parashoot (infastructural nuisances etc)

guys, i think that we MUST allow the axis powers build transports!! i think it´s a huge disadvantage.
damnit. the red army cant be so god damn powerful! they are mere infantry! came on!!
infantry in the open field, and a ****ing panzer III cant kill it? a werhmacth cant kill him? a bf109 cant kill him? i have to use BOMBERS to destroy mere infantry????
how the hell do i shot down the spitfires in alexandria?
this could happen because we are in december and it´s a frozen terrain?
i dont know guys... eh... i remember versions where the axis had the upper hand! it looks really different here.
i used to kill lots of russian units in the first german turn. what the hell happened here?
in a few words, i feel that the allies has lots of units... but thats not the issue. the problem is that i dont have a clear technological superiority in order to balance that.
sorry, but i feel extremely uncomfourtable with these units stats. maybe someone else would like to take my place as germany. someone who likes these stats?Last edited by academia; February 12, 2007, 17:47.
