Yup that was the trick. Glad someone remember it still.

Tried it and it works though all the cities suffer a food shortage. I guess if I add enough food for each city before starting this process it will not be a problem.

In 1 hour CivII will have to go on hold for the Champions League final and a repeat in Athens of the Istanbul game, though I will find it strange cheering for the red half of merseyside!

Events are done but I need to cut 30 of them for the file to work, but which 30? Where is ToT's extra events space when you need it!

there´s no need to cut them.
just use a .bat file in order to load different events files according to the turn you are playing.

That's a good idea but I think it is important to keep it simple for PBEM games. I should be able to shave off enough events and combine some. In the PBEM the human players will be the real opposition. If I do make this into a single player game I think it will be for ToT and I can actually add a whole lot more events without any need for batch files.

                ...
I am not so sure of the best way to go about the whole process. Do I select cover entire map then save as scenario, then reveal the areas required and save as scenario again?
True but my problem with this technique is barbarian owned cities (using civcity). Even if you do this, the single square under the city will still be visible to the founding civ. This is generally not a problem in scenarios where the founding civ is closeby anyway, but how can you make, say, Gelonus -the recently excavated Scythian capital near Poltava- invisible to all seven civs?

Yep it was a complete reversal of a final too.
Liverpool played a better game this time and lost, Milan played conservatively and won.
The Spaniard made some real blunders weakening Liverpool's defence at the worst possible moment.
Milan's talent investment really pays off.

I know it works. Its just not something I want to do in this game!

All my future single player scenarios will be for ToT and there should be enough events space.

All my PBEM games will be for MGE and as the human players don't need assistance the events can be used for text, techs and barbarians so that should not be a problem.

I have shaved off the 30 events to make it work. I think I had made too many barbarian spawning events anyway so it was not too big a problem.

                      @Tanelorn

All the barbarian cities were originally owned by the seven civs. I just placed barbarian units next to them and let a turn go so they were all captured.

Will this cause the same problem?

                        The Great Wall

                        Quick question.

The Great Wall wonder doubles defence against barbarians and forces peace negotiations. Does it also create walls in every friendly city or am I dreaming this?

Also, how do I get the title working. I have tried saving a picture as a Gif to the same dimentions as other peoples titles but it just shows up as a black screen. What is the secret?

Also, any suggestions for a scenario name? The SP version was going to be called Rise of Rome or such like. I am looking for a fairly neutral but dranatic ancient name

@GW: No, you're not dreaming. This is reality!

@name: Something latin would be cool, "Pax Romana" is very too early, though, as it starts in 400bc... Maybe something age-typical - legions, hoplites and elefants or so.

                            Potential names:
Bellum Romanum (to contrast with Pax Romana)
Ascensum Romae (the Rise of Rome)
Well, I like Latin titles, but my Latin is rusty right now. Hope this helps!

The game starts in 281 B.C. at the time of the Pyrrhic Invasion. I like the idea of something in Latin. I don't want it to mention Rome though as in the PBEM history may be altered and Carthage or the Gauls may end up ruling the known world!

Glad I was not dreaming up the great wall thing. In the pedia and all other info I can find it does not mention the free walls but I was pretty sure you do get them. Useful for a fall of Rome type game where the great wall becomes obsolete later on!
