• New Year (Civ-related) resolutions

Well Christmas has come and gone and 2007 is almost upon us. Time to come with some Civ resolutions for the new year!

Install and setup my new pc for Civ4
Play Civ4
Design at least half a dozen Civ2/FC units
Design a small tile set for FC
Improve and add more units to the FC Amplio (this includes citizen faces, graphics of city improvements etc..)
Make a high res version of the FC Amplio set (same units redone at 2x the resolution)
Try to create a basic WW2 scenario for FC (think very basic like the original Civ2 one)
If i can score at least 4 out of 7 I´ll be quite content...i´ve taken an early start with 1 and 2...

Looking forward to your FC work CapTVK!

It's been awfully quiet on that front this winter.

I know, one of the main reasons being that my old pc went kaput didn´t help. However, it´s hopeful to see that after almost a year some people are trying to improve the original Amplio graphics.

~ to get more people involved in the Freeciv project

        edit:
~ and improve the docs and tutorials to that content creators like CapTVK can more easily create content!

          1) To release the final version of Bitterfrost III.
          2) To work on Dictator VI.
          3) To work on Empereur.

          And various other scens!

As a teaser for resolution 6, this is what I´m thinking of.

My goal is to recreate the orginal tileset but at double the resolution. Reason being that units get rather tiny at high resolution monitors. The process isn´t that hard but it can be timeconsuming, basically you enhance the lines and shapes on the units and add extra details here and there.

Maybe finish my Star Wars scenario.

No, seriously! I mean it this time!

I've had relatives who were born, grew into children, and have learned to actually play Civ2 within the time span of this scenario's creation. :/

My ultimate goal is to release at long last a completed scenario, one that I've been dabbling with since last spring. Though my PC trouble as of late has prevented much in the way of progress, I hope to have a thread started for it just after the new year .
