  • Status of My Scenarios (Need Advice)

Okay, here's where my tangled web of scenario projects currently stands. 'Empire of the Rising Sun' and 'the Korean War' are mostly done, only needing a bit of tweaking and some flavour text (describe.txt, game.txt, and pedia.txt edited). 'Rise of the Third Reich' (my European 'companion' to EotRS) and 'a Line in the Sand' (a contemporary Middle East scenario based on news events since 1990) are also done, save to have their events finished (a large task) and tested, to get flavour text, to get a few speculative German aircraft graphics (in the case of RotTR, at least), and then to be playtested. I've also started threads on, but made little progress on, 'the Solar Revolution,' 'Alien Invasion,' and 'Conquest of the Inca Empire.' All of the above are for ToT. I also have a number of MGE scens, mostly meant for PBEM's, that have been started at one point or another, but need significant work before being fully finished, including 'the Late Cold War,' 'the Early Cold War,' 'the Vietnam War,' the eight-part 'History of Asia,' 'Crisis in the Middle East,' 'Post-Cold War Europe,' and 'the Mexican Revolution.' I also have cool unit sets and maps, but nothing else, I assembled in my spare time for WW1, Napoleonic, and American Civil War scens by ToT. Does anyone have any advice how to navigate this mired mess of scenario work?

    My two cents:

    You should probably finsh them in the order of ur writing/order of the most complete ones;

    1. EotRS & Korean War (tweakings)
    2. Rise of the Third Reich & a Line in the Sand (events, playtesting)
    3. Solar Revolution + Conquest of the Inca Empire + Alien Invasion
    4. The rest

    OR

Just finish them in the order of your interst. It's not fun to work withomething that you just get tired of working with. Either way it just seems logical first finish EotRS & Korean War wile doing some mnor tweaking/gathring of recourses for the others.

It's all for YOU to decide, it's CIV, not work

Edit: spelling (my k-board is f***ed)

It can only be achieved by understanding"

      My scenario policy:

      1) Finish the project closest to completion.
      2) Choose the next CIV2 project.
      3) Concentrate on it fully and put all others on hold.

I would first finish the scenario i´m currently working on.
Then i would begin a new one.

I personally prefer a scenario between the 18th and 19th century

I know first hand its difficult to keep focused on one idea for the amount of time it takes to finish a scenario these days, especially when you have so many really good ideas kicking around on the drawing board.

I agree with Curt and Academia, finish tweaking KW and EotRS and then shift all focus to the Alien Invasion project.
