Changing the Spaceship feature

I have the following questions:

(1) Is there a comprehensive guide on how to edit and customise the spaceship feature of vanilla Civ2?

(2) Could anyone (Boco, Techumseh) lend a hand or two editing this feature?

Not that I know of.

I've never worked with this feature, but I know Boco has, though I haven't heard from him in months.

I'll have to decline. I'm busy getting ready for a double scenario release.

Any input would be highly appreciated

Here's what I know:

1. get Rune Berg's GifX program from the Cradle of Civilization site: http://coc.apolyton.net/utilities/index.shtml

2. use it to open the ss.dll file in the main ToT directory.

3. edit the gif files within using PSP or an equivalent, then replace them in the dll, using GifX. The new gif file must not be larger (in bytes) than the original.
