  • The Great Christian War

The protestant nations of Holland, France and England have had enough of Catholic aggression with our righteous people and Empire. Holland has explicitly shown its interests in the old Aztec Empire, yet the Catholics come in and take over land with great arrogance. The French suffered this too when the Habsburgs decided to go further north in her colonial ambition. Portugal has shown its support for this tyrranical kingdom and thus they shall suffer the same fate as the Habsburgs: burn in hell.

The decision of war came about in the Committee of Protestant Nations when all showed mutual agreement about Catholic arrogance. Holland, France and England now stand united against the archaic Pope and his unchristian rule over Europe.

Portuguese casualties include a carrack and probably two trade goods.

Habsburgs have lost two galleos, one with an unknown unit and one with 3 units (most probably colonial goods).

May God have mercy on the heretics.

      • Christ, they wouldn't have gone around saying that they're heretics They believe in God in the wrong way, as the Catholics think about Protestants, so they will go to hell etc etc bla bla bla. The usual excuses that are so illogical.

        • *The heretic paradise city of Bahamas (aka New Gomorrah), where the heretics commited unholy intercourse acts with the heathen natives, was destroyed.

          • Although sympathy for the mission, England must declare neutrality. There seem to have been some miscommunication, England has never vouched for this crusade.

              • Nah, not really.

Let's play on. Although Portugal strongly condemns this pathetic sneak attack, we are not shaken in any way and do not expect to lose much, if anything, due to being spread out over the entire globe and well-protected.

                • How ironic for you to say. Atleast I didn't cheat whilst doing this..

And besides, how did I ruin it? I gave a chance for us to survive. I've seen how you play colonialisms and another Empire building PBEMs. You expand, trade and then fight a war and we all die. In the end I know I will be destroyed and so the game is ruined, because there is no hope. This is the only way I can retain hope and you can easily counter-attack. We both have hope: a good war of civ2.

                    @ Nilat for saying this

Anyway this is a game where you can win by colonization, trade or technology, like Dario did in the last one, he won there without one fight

Oh well, I must admit that it still it can be fun, you want war you will get it

                    • This was academia's and my collective decision, because we know how you play and you will win if we let you continue. It was either attacking or leaving this PBEM, as my contribution (or anybody else than you) would have been quite useless.

And don't whine about that comment. You're comment of saying that the game was ruined by this 'stupid action' is just as absurd in my eyes.

                      • ruined in this aspect; you can win by colonization, trade or technology, but now we are in what could be a total war, I dind´t want this, you ruined my plans, I just wanted to do what I think the game was meant for, expansion trade and grow, but like I said before it can be interesting to have a war now, may the game be fair (I promise I will not cheat ), play with honour and may the best win, and now enough talking and more playing, will post tomorrow because now I have to go

remember that war is part of the civ2 game. and ruining other people´s plans if part of trying to win.
