Yes, I know Mexico is in N. America but I've been taught that general area is called Central America (despite the fact there is no continent such as Central America) in order to reduce confusions.

I thought it was pretty common to regard latin america in general as an entity, just as north africa is included in the Middle East. Nothing controversial about this, is it?

Been looking around as I was bothered by it and I was wrong! Mexico is not a part of the general reference of central-America, as I have been told and assumed.



To make this more relevant, I'm intending to get Mexico at first and then probably continue to Central America.
