  • Can't I create a foreign unit in my city in TOT?

It was perfectly possible in FW. And it would be important for my scn, for I want Mecca to fall into muslim hands after the rest of Arabia, as muslim tradition states.
But Mecca is so close to Medina that it is actually the first city that would fall. I can't use impassable terrain.
I thought I would place a turkish unit inside and make Turks Muslims' allies, with negotiations disabled. In proper moment I would trigger a war - voila!
Eventually, I could give Barbarians some incredibly strong unit inside Mecca, and later give Barbarians tech that would make it weak. But that'd need Leonardo, and additional unit and advance slot.

You cannot use events to create a foreign unit inside a city.

However, if it helps, you can use the cheat mode to put units of different civs inside cities at the start of a scen.

That's exactly what I want to do. But it is impossible. The units appear in defence ministry of the civ that owns them, but do not appear in the city itself.

I think I know what is happening. If the unit has been created but does not appear when you open the city screen, try disbanding the units that do appear. Your missing unit is probably at the bottom of the stack.

your suggestion is a mock of my intelligence
No, it's not that easy. It simply does not appear,
though the map is uncovered for the civ in this point, and it is shown in its defence ministry.
Yet, at least in previous civ2 versions, ifg You had your own unit in a foreign city, You could enter it. It does not work that way after "creating" this unit.
          I don't know what's wrong.

Have you tried attacking the city with another civ's units?

No, I just tried attacking with the civ that owns the unit. Anyway, I have to fortify this unit, so that it wouldn't go out. Perhaps "edit unit" will discover it, I can fortify it through it...
