  • Help Modding a Map

I need help modding my Korea map. I've struggled over it on and off for about two weeks now, but the terrain placement always looks 'fake' or 'contrived.' The base map has just four terrain types: grassland, hills, mountains, and ocean. I've got a decent idea what terrain I want the other types to represent (finding graphics will be another matter; I'll start with Catfish's collection for that). If anyone is interested in helping, please let me know and I'll send you the details of what roughly I need.

    No forests?

If it's for a relatively modern scen, then an urban terrain type is a great addition as well.

You could also add a 'riverbed' terrain with a high move cost and low defensive value, making bridges really valuable (you can even use the forest terrain slot to make it identical in looks to the standard river (only you won't be able to overlay any other terrain type), but avoiding the 50% defense bonus and the move bonus along it.

Regular rivers can be replaced by fortification lines or somesuch...

I've narrowed down my terrain types to the following:
      Riverbed
      Rice Paddy
      Grassland
      Forest
      Hills
      Mountains (infantry only)
      Urban
Western (one space on map edge for UN capital)
      Rocky (infantry only)
      Broken (infantry only)
      Ocean
Infantry only essentially means impassable with only infantry having the override flag. I plan to work out a map soon.

@Curt: May I use one of your Dalek paved terrains for my urban terrain (it'll all begin covered in suburbs, but if say pillaged, it'll show through)? I found all the rest in Catfish's collection. Thanks!
