  • Help me (TOT events problem)

The problem is that for the last months my computer was broke. Now it's OK, and I've switched from Millenium to XP. It says there's a problem with my events and I should debugg them, but debugging (@DEBUG at the beginning of the events) doesn't work. Does anyone know why? And if not, can someone check it (I'll send the files)?

Should be in a file named report.txt (IIRC, in the same folder as the events.txt).

In unrelated news, good call on switching from Millennium to XP. Windows ME is the bastard step child of a dysfunctional Windows family and you're well rid of it. :/

        I agree 100%.
        Been there. Done it.
        ME unstable as drunken sailor.
        Corrupts as easily as politician.
XP paragon of sobriety and probity by comparison.

Actually, just a week after installing XP I had to reinstall it due to some bug, while ME worked quite well for several years

Ouch! I think that you have been most unlucky to have that happen.

I ward off bugs, worms and other vermin with a short mantra before turning on my PC. Something like
              'MMMMMMMMMMMS suuuuuuuc*s'
chanted 3 times works quite well.

I had XP on a machine for 5 years without formatting or reinstalling it and it still worked. ME had to be formatted and reinstalled every year or so. In fact, I soon switched back to 98 SE, which gave me much better results.

One of my the things I've learned (except for how to use ghost, and what's the paging file) is that it really sucks to buy original music cds, which I was always doing. Not only You pay much more, but if You change your system, You lose everything You've downloaded from your cds.

Uh, why don't you just backup your music? Or buy a $100 harddrive and keep it on that?

I still have this music, but without licence, which was assigned to the previous system. Most of my cds are in Poland, and I'm in Syria.
