  • Weird bug, unbuildable units

Again I'm in the need of some expert Apolyton-help.

In my most recent release, the Blitzkrieg 1936 IV I have encountered a weird bug. For some reason the Motorised Infantry unit is unbuildable, even though every civ has the advance to build it (Motorised Warfare Doctrine: Iro). The same thing applies for the Militia unit.

I checked everything I know of. The unit does not get obsoleted by any techs, it's nil, and the units is not in any Knight or Museteer slot, it's in the Mech inf slot.

I had a smiliar problem for Colonialism II. After I'd used the mapcopy tool all squares got the land mass 0, and hencely all newly built cities was unable to build ship units.

All squares are 0 in this scenario as well after extensive mapcopy use. Can this be the reason for this abnormal behaviour in the BK case as well?

    Thanks in advance for helping!

If you have more powerful units, they are given priority on the AI build lists...

For example, if the AI is presented with these...

    Trooper, nil, 0, 1.,0, 6a,5d, 3h,2f, 10,0, 0, Inv, 000000000000000
    Grenadier, nil, 0, 1.,0, 5a,5d, 3h,2f, 10,0, 0, Inv, 000000000000000

It will build the 'Trooper' due to the higher attack value...

The way around it is to give the offending units the same attack value...

Or give them both the 'air superiority' role, and the AI will build them!

Changing the role will not mess up ground units...

Check out this SL Tips page for a full run down on
the bug that causes your problem with the units....!

I'm not sure I understand you, or you not me. The problem is not that the AI won't build it, but the case is that the unit is not even buildable...at all! That's what puzzles me. Why is it not buildable? Everything, as far as I can see, tells that it should.

Are we on the same page or did you misunderstand?

I cracked the code, baby! It was somehow related to the Gunpoweder tech, which was prereqed by Mot inf Doctrine (Iro). It's weird still, as this was not a problem in previous version and the prereq was the same...

        Anyway, solved!
