problems with gold eddition

hi everybody...if I set up 7 civiliztions and just 2 of them are humans why computer players are so weak?they doesn't behave like in normal single player game...it piss me off a bit...
...I have tried all levels and there's no differences really between them... I am using the gold eddition and I didn't instalize any patch...
what to do???

Download the latest patch... while it won't really improve the AI play, it will allow you to run the game better.

Frankly... the AI has always been weak in Civ II. I don't think they play any better or worse than they do in single play.
