Ok here's another one: what determines the order in which cities scroll when using the scroll buttons in the city window? (you know, the up and down buttons next to the display toggle buttons)

Sorry - my mistake - when you hit the up and down buttons on the city screen it goes alphabetically doesn't it?

Yep, scrolling on the city screen is alphabetical, whereas the F1 city list is by order of creation. I find it annoying that they don't operate the same way, and I long ago took to naming my cities in alphabetical order so my city-screen scroll would go in order of creation. If I remember correctly, it's the "find city" command that differs between 2.42 and MGE.

City window scroll in Civ2 will skip cities that begin with a special character, eg, Álava or §†®ª¥ßº\/\/. Special characters in rest of the name will just mess with the order, placing accented characters or ñ after z.(\__/) Save a bunny, eat more Smurf!
