Although the outcome of this HoF seems certain to put Lafayette in by vote count, may I be the first to propose that come what may he should now be inducted posthumously if necessary

I hate to disagree with SG, but I thought La Fayette's entry to the Hall of Fame by popular acclaim for his accomplishments would have been of greater value to him than due to his death. I hope DC considers keeping his second place standing for that reason.

As Elephant suggested above, La Fayette will be elected into the Hall due to popular votes.

His entry in the hall will be slightly different from the previous two categories- Posthumous and Elected.

As for the final updating, I cannot close the elections until an appropriate tribute to his memory has been assembled. Take heart though, this tribute is being worked on.
