Well, I wanted to try out Civ2 again after a long break. Can anyone tell me the effects of world age, moisture level, and temperature on the landmass? I'd like to get a world relatively high on rivers, low on the usual "undesirable" terrains of mountains, tundra, desert etc. Many thanks!

Many (most?) of us draw our own maps, and have no recent experience with this.
If no one proves me wrong with a good answer 
, then you might have luck on the Civ2 General Forum. There remain a few wizards there who know vanilla Civ2 inside and out.
