You've really gone in debt here. Thanks rm! I'll check these things out!

Btw, you're in 1975 as well, right?

Eivind: Also, on your initial map you had Finland marked as pro-Soviet. While there were Communist factions with sympathies towards the Soviet Union, many Finns still bore a grudge towards the SU from the Winter War. Also, the Finnish presidents walked on a tight rope to keep Finland as independent as possible. In other words, mark us as neutral / unaligned.
The breakfast of champions is the opposition.

According to the reading I've done Finland was under influence from Russia and should remain pro-soviet.

            Just see what Wikipedia says:

"After the Second World War, Finland was in the grey zone between western countries and Soviet Union. The "YYA Treaty" (Finno-Soviet Pact of Friendship, Cooperation, and Mutual Assistance) gave the Soviet Union some leverage in Finnish domestic politics and included a guarantee whereby Finland promised to defend her territory and airspace against Germany or her allies, in practice NATO. Many politicians, like President Kekkonen (1956–81), used their relations with Moscow to solve party controversies, which meant that the Soviet Union gained even more influence; other people worked single-mindedly to oppose the Kremlin. However, Finland maintained a democratic goverment and market economy, unlike other countries bordering the Soviet Union."

Having them neutral in that case would be wrong, as they would be figthing with the Warpac in case of war. You may of course provide me with info Wikipedia has neglected.

Placing units as we speak. Only events left after that.

Placement and unit stats done. Only events left. Could take a couple of days as I'm pretty wiped now after intensive designing, but after that the beta would be done!

No worries here, you seem to be a quick producer.

When I made scenarios it always took ages until they were finished.

It's always taken me ages as well, but the last couple of scenarios I've made everything's gone rather smooth!

I don't see that at all. According to the article, Finland would fight only if she were directly attacked. Sounds like neutrality to me.

Maybe it's more apropriate, you're right. I must have read it too roughly, and having a coloured view after reading they were under influence from Moscow.

Events are done at last! I found a practical way to represent the Iranian revolution, the Afghan coup and the Soviet-Afghan war.

Now I only have to do some small tweaks on text files and I'll post a beta. Maybe I can pull it off in the next 24-48 hours.

                                PLAYTESTERS NEEDED!

Ok, guys, this is when I need you! The beta is done and I need playtesters to help me find bugs etc.

There's an annoying problem when playing other civs than WARPAC or the European NATO, that the AI always ends up in WW3 on turn one. I've tried to alter the attitudes to worshipful, but nothing seems to prevent this. Any ideas? I really don't want to, but I could maybe make them allies and then creat an immobile iron curtain unit or something to keep them out of one's territory.

Other than that, a lot of blood sweat and tears have been put into this and I'm proud to present this beta. Don't forget that this is indeed the beta version. The alpha version will be released once I'm confident of a workable version.

Please post if you download so I have control who's in posession of the beta. And please only download if you're actually going to help me.

                                Enjoy!
