here. Does anyone know how to use the CivConverter utility to convert FW/MGE scenarios to Test of Time? I'm interested in converting some of the best scenarios to ToT and giving them a graphical upgrade.

Thanks. I used to know how, when I had Win98. Now with XP, I have no idea.

There's a comprehensive guide at Catfish's site:
Which scenarios are you thinking of?

I have a long list (not complete):
Harlan Thompson: Mongols, Vikings, LOTR
Morton Blajberg: Armada
Captain Nemo: Red Front
Jesus Munoz : First World War, 30 Years War
Gothmog: Justinian the Great, French and Indian War, Brownman's Burden, Pitt's War
Jesus Balsinde: Celt's and Iberians
John Ellis: Colonies IV, Bonaparte
Mathais Koster: Daroae
Hanti: Four Sea Republics
Stephan Hartel: Quest for Asia
Pablostuka: Spanish Civil War
Mike Daumen: The Great Game
Bernd Brosing: Cross-Crescent, Imperium Romanum
Paul Cullivan: AE 1200BC (AE 3500BC is already converted)
Techumseh: Prince of Darkness

Conversion is rather easy.
The method I use in XP....
*Put the CivConvertor program into a folder in your CIV directory.
*Call it whatever you want, I call mine Convert for simplicity.
*Select the scenario you want to convert to ToT.
*Make a Copy of the scenario folder into your 'Convert' folder.
*We'll call the CIV scenario 'RedFront', just for the hell of it.
*Take note of the actual .SCN file's name, you'll need this.
*Use the 'Run' command on your Windows start bar.
*With the run box up, enter this command.
c:\CIV2\converter\civconverter c:\CIV2\converter\RedFront\RF.scn
*Change the above file names and folders to suit the names you are using.
Voila!
You should have a nice ToT-ready conversion ofm your MGE/FW scenario!
Now get those giant events, BMP graphics and funky sounds made!
PS
What I do with my ToT scens is to make a work folder where I prepare developments.
I recommend copying the text files from the ToT original folder into a similar directory
and editing them with the chosen Scenrio values and info from your MGE/FW version. Only do
this if you want to add extra units and take advantage of the other ToT special features.
Hope this helps!

Does anyone know if the CC will convert the extra rules and events files (eg. Rules2, winter terrain, etc) in scns such as Red Front?

Our taste in scenarios is pretty similar, good choices
At one time or other I've made alternative gfx files for most of those. I have units for Imperium Romanum, Justinian, of Celts and Iberians, Brown man's burden, Bonaparte, Quest for Asia and Kull's AE pair on my hard drive ATM if you're interested. Oh and a fully converted and tarted up Red Front of course
The rest would need converting to ToT.

'If a scenario uses a batch file to implement multiple game files, you will be required to run CivConverter multiple times, each time temporarily changing the file names, eg, units2.bmp would need to be renamed units.bmp so that it can be recognised by CivConverter.'
I have his conversion of Red Front on my HD.

I'll try to convert some of the other scns you've done graphical upgrades for as well, if you don't mind sending the files as well. Thanks.

I have done quite a bit of converting, and I would be glad to help. One reminder though, Civconverter cannot convert scenarios that use major objective cities. I have already tried to convert some of the above scenarios (Daroae for example) and ToT wouldn't open the resulting scenario. I have already done some converting, and I believe I still have The Spanish Civil War and the Thirty Year's War for ToT somewhere.
To converter multiple file scenarios, you will indeed have to convert each graphics file individually, but I am sure that ToT can directly read any Civ2 events or rules file."If you are not confused by quantum physics, then you haven't really understood it." -Niels Bohr
