You see how difficult it is to win without HG vs someone who sucks. Now imagine if you were playing against me and I had HG knowing as much as I do about the game and knowing how fast I expand...yeah, you'd be ****ed which proves my point that if HG is in capable hands the game is automatically over.

That doesn't hold true in MP games with more than 3 players. HG usually means you gave up somthing else, expansion early in the game, falling behind in sciences because you use your caravans to build a wonder vs trade routes, limit your ability to attack early... exploration... Against multiple players, it's not the end all advantage. I've had 30+ cities with no happy wonders and it's not a problem.
You speak mostly in terms of "duels"... many of us prefer real MP gamesKeep on Civin'

I think I've already made it clear why. Now, if maybe you were to explain to me why I am wrong about everything I've said and somehow tell me why it is that you will be able to beat me when every single other player couldn't then I migth remotely begin to entertain the idea of sitting through the most boring and idiotic civ2 game that can possibly be played. As for why he got HG first...Markus got HG first on several games too, but he had 5 whales compared to my grassland and forest. The simple fact is that whoever has the best resources is going to win. Numbers, that's all this game is. When the percentages and numbers become too high the likelyhood of coming back decreases.

Is it possible that Eyes will only play if he is guaranteed HG because he knows if he actually had to go for HG it would interupt his predetermined expansion strategy.
I stand by my challenge. An honest 1x1x deity game. Again, I am not interested in commenting on your opinions or supposed stategies. I think it is clear to everyone here what is going on.
I challenged you. You refuse to respond to the challenge.
You remind fo something brother (who is a law professor) teaches his students about trial law.
If the facts of the case are on your side, shout out the facts.
If the law is on your side, shout out the law.
If neither is on your side, just shout.
Keep on shouting.

These aren't opinions you ****ing idiot. Why should I bother with someone who just keeps stone walling everything and then uses second grade level attempts at goading me into a game? If you want a game it's not going to be deity. If you want a Deity game you have to prove my statements wrong, end of story. I already went through a few years ago and played everyone 1x1x and Deity and they are by far better than you. I see no point in wasting my time on someone like you in a setting I proved to be unbalanced years ago. I have quotes from people like smartfart who admit Deity comes down to a race for HG. I won't waste my time on someone as intellectually inferior as you are.

I believe in the games you played - you agreed to set wonders ahead of time. Therefore, you didn't have to make a decision about applying resources towards getting the wonder or early expansion.
Here is a point you fail to answer.
If you are guaranteed a wonder there is no rush to get it. If you aren't guaranteed that you have to make a decision. You might decide to go for it while the other person expands. You might decide not to go for it and hope your expansion is more powerful then the benefit of the wonder. Worse case you might decide to go for it and not get it, then you wasted the resources and have nothing to show for it.
Now that I have explained why your BS test with some people years ago have nothing to do with playing an honest 1x1x deity game I am sure you will play me
Atawa probably makes the best case against 1x1x deity duels. It is true that superior resources are tough to overcome. But if you play island games (thus making HG and LH similiar in value) and allow each player a restart or 2, usually you can get a fairly even game.

Island games do make Hg less powerfull for sure, if only becouse after you reach trade you can basicly set your tech at 10% and just deliver caravans for science.
In a game I played this week someone delivered a caravan to a size 1 city with no trade and still got over 300...
The only problem with this theory is that on a round continent you just build your cities inland untill you have both HG and Mike...

Wow, are ther actually strategies to a civ game other than 2x2x king. I am shocked.
Atawa maybe you should write a long winded post that declares yourself the greatest player ever at all settings. Then you could talk about your past games (kinda like when my Dad talks about the good ole days) and decline playing any games unless you can predetermine your wonder.
