  • Hex Editing Needed

    This request is directed at AGRICOLA or anyone else skilled at hex editing .scn files. I've noticed in playtesting 'Empire of the Rising Sun' that the Brits and Yanks often make short work of the Neutrals/Communist Chinese (the barbs). This is not what I intended. The Brits historically respected Nepali and Bhutani neutrality (though recruited many of their young men as gurkhas), and they do not in this scen. Likewise, the US actually worked with Mao's Communinsts, they didn't attack them, and even Chiang had an accord with them during the actual war, but both the Americans and Nationalist Chinese mercilessly slaughter the commies in the game. The barb slot is only meant to antagonize the Japanese. I need AGRICOLA (as I know he did this kind of thing for Curt) or anyone else who knows how, to hex edit an alliance for every player BUT the Japanese with the barbs. If you could do this for me, I'd be most grateful. Attached is the .scn file.

    The attached zip contains two files, FIXED.scn and Test.sav. In the Test file, in SW Australia, there are lineups of Chicom units and units from the other civs. Try attacking the Chicoms with all the others. I hope that the results are what you want.

    Could you possibly change the name of Tula in Siberia. There is another Tula, SSW of Moscow, which had a brief period of fame during the winter of '41-'42.
