    anyone else have problems running a batch file in Win XP? Anyone know how i might fix my problem (the window pops up real quick like then disappears).

    Yes, I have. Boco figured it out, the syntax(?) has to be different for it to work in XL. Boco?

      Use this: choice.com.

      Stick this file in the scenario folder which contains the batch file and everything works again.

        The syntax difference we found is specific for choice.com. Often, however, batch files used with civ2 fail simply because a file is missing (hence Fairline's post) or misnamed. Try his advice, and if that doesn't work, your best bet is to post the batch file. I usually debug by temporarily inserting "pause" at various points in the file.
