I did not notice any reduction of my post count, but maybe that is because I'm more off than on topic and post such in the appropriate place, i.e. generally not here.

Anyway, that's one daring thread title.
"The world is too small in Vorarlberg". Austrian ex-vice-chancellor Hubert Gorbach in a letter to Alistar [sic] Darling, looking for a job...
"Let me break this down for you, fresh from algebra II. A 95% chance to win 5 times means a (95*5) chance to win = 475% chance to win." Wiglaf, Court jester or hayseed, you judge.

Well, considering what happend to this forum and its contents, I think everyone has been very civil about it.

Not only did many posters have their post count reduced by hundreds of posts, but years of work has vanished, and at least several weeks of very valuable content, remarks, graphics, files and scenario ideas were flushed down the toilet forever...

Still curious when the situation will be fixed.

          One must always be daring!

And I think the admin now think we are going to forget about regaining the old content.

You mean, the loss affected this particular sub-forum and no one else? Ouch, that's really sad.

Yes I too have been pleased with the civility of the forum members in the wake of this inadvertent act of mass e-destruction. It is troubling though that so much was lost, much of which has proven hard to recover.

There are so many examples, one of which is an 8 unit set Curt posted on Steph's "Okytabr" thread a month or two before the crash. It was a group of high quality looking modern day tanks which would have been perfect for use in the Redux of "Under Seige" I am working on. Its proven difficult to find those units again. The same can be said of countless other arists and countless other graphics.

Still, I am confident that if we keep this thread on the top of this forum we can keep the pressure up to have the old forum restored as much as humanly possible.

                  Yes.

And this is where all the creativity is going on.

You have no idea how much material was lost...

                    Sarsstock:

Maybe start a new thread for the update to Under Seige.

That way we can all post what graphics we have to update the scenario.

I'm just making sure this one stays on top where it belongs. In my opinion this is as serious and crucial a thread as has ever graced the ranks of Apolyton.

Still, there is a desire out there by forum members to get their post counts regenerated right?

I believe the idea is that when the threads are returned, members will get their posts back. The threads being the important thing of course. Last night Mark said in the community thread that he was hoping to finish restoring the threads on saturday. :hope:

-that's terrible if these threads are lost forever! I love perusing the unit art and can't believe that so much might be lost!

I don't remember how many posts I had. 2200? Anyway, My post count was reduced from 1,25+ (6?7?) ratio to 1,05 or so.

I'm utterly relaxed from browsing the site at a snail's pace. Never seen it this slow. Maybe that's a good omen. Something may be happening.

Besides, by my computer clock, there are 2 minutes of Saturday still remaining.

Sadly, there are also only 192 of my posts remaining.

Excerpts from the Manual of the Civilization Fanatic :

Money can buy happiness, just raise the luxury rate to 50%.
Money is not the root of all evil, it is the root of great empires.
