Hi folks!
It has came to my attention latetly that some posters have been trading
some unkind words, due to misunderstandings about relative CIV2 versions.
Now, we all love CIV2, and we all have our preferences when it comes
to what version of 'the glorious game' we choose to make our scenarios on.
But to fall out with each other and stand apart in rivalry over what version
we each use is plain crazy. And also bad for our unity as a community.
Test of Time vs Multiplayer Gold Edition?
There is no contest between them, both are great!
One allows easy creation of really classic scenarios,
while the other allows the boundaries to be pushed.
Where is the conflict?
I have used MGE for years and it is a definite version of CIV2, and beforehand,
vanilla CIV2, CIC and FW all were the standards for me, and the whole scene,
long before the current era we have now. And such a rivalry I see brewing now
would have been considered silly and pointless.
We are all CIV-mad, and we are all buddies here. We all love the same
game and can produce great work, regardless if it is done with MGE or ToT.
Sure, ToT is being experimented with, due to it's increased options, but no-one
should feel marginalised or left out, as the audience for MGE is still the majority.
No-one is trying to convert anyone else, there are no restrictions on any of us.
Our main duty is to keep the flame alive and support each other, and with no bad blood.
If sharp words have been traded over the merits of CIV2, would our
friends please retract them and maintain the bonds of our community?
If posters have became unpleasant to each other, then that is something
that concerns me deeply, I see no need for that and hope we can set
all things straight again in our ranks…And continue creating fine
work, regardless of game version! Come on! This is CIV2!
