  • I just noticed that I have credits on some of those units, when they are really fairline's work.

For instance, the Afrika Korps soldier was completely made by fairline. Not me!

Most of my tweaks to his units do not even deserve a credit.

very nice collection.. maybe some italians are missing..
Im not so expert of WW2.. but i suppose a good italian set shell include at least :

      - Normal Infantry
      - Camice nere ( black shirt... "elite" fascist.. )
      - Alpini ( elite mountain troops, w plume on the hat.. )
      - Bersaglieri (fast/light infantry .. with bicycle.. and )
      - Parà.. ( such as the Folgore division, annihilate at El-Alamein)
      - Partigiani/Partisan .. for when the war did change..
      - Colonial troops.. some leftover of Ascari .. in africa maybe..

but i know italians has not been so much protagonist in that time..luckily.. or anyway they are not so.. "appealing" to sacrifice other units-slots to depict such little differences in units type..

but despite this , italian army did the best, considering the equipment they did have..
On Russian front for example the "Cuneense" Alpine division had 13.500 lost.. fighting 1:10 at -30 c° .. just 4000 did come back in italy .. and the brother of my grand ma was not among them..
or also the Folgore division at El-Alamein did receive Honour for battle from the British , after have been totally destroyed on the field..

      • Every nation was affected, and all gave their best...

So many men were lost in so many forgotten battles in the East.

                      • @MacGalleo:

Great work - Don't worry about the credit thing.

Fairline's work is so widespread that we can consider
most units to derive from his in any case...
