        I agree.

I'd really love to play a scenario in which the player doesn't start with a dozen size 12 cities and a hundred units all over the map.

There aren't enough good sci-fi scenarios. I like CapTVK's Wasteland idea!

I'd say starting with around 5 cities and 20 units is about right for a scenario. Something I can get right into.

Uh, that's how most of my scenarios look like...

              I don't want any.
I don't like the concept of 5-turn scenario.

Wasteland does make a good candidate for a slow build&conquer scenario. As in the game you start out with limited resources (Desert Ranger HQ was basically a prison complex with light industrial facilities). You could only build light infantry, the odd biplane and perhaps an armoured vehicle but that's about it. High tech units are special and could only be aquired through quests and special missions. Meanwhile you would slowly spread your influence by conquering (or bribing!?) a few smaller cities like quartz and needles until you reach Las Vegas. Which will actually be a huge patchwork of cityblocks, littered with mines, gangs and thugs and you'll need to take them out one by one

Meanwhile...strange reports start flowing in about....

Doubt is humbling and constructive; it leads to rational thought in weighing alternatives and fully reexamining options, and it opens unlimited vistas.

I agree with Heresson there are already LOTS of ww2 scenarios, and I think that's a fact (not negative, just a FACT)

But a new scenario is always something potentially good for the community of players... of course, the more original, the better for most of people, exactly because some eras/themes/wars are already enough 'covered'...

However, I think that some 'sectorial' ww2 scenarios can have their own originality, and could be appreciated by... Heresson too
In this sense, I proposed Kreta 1941, never covered!

                    Alternative: empire-bulding scenario.
There are many periods covered by scenarios very old, or not sublime' , or good but 'coverable' by other perspective or point of view...
                    IMHO, of course

Finally, I'll reveal you THE secret: with his posts, Heresson is only trying to hide his deep and uncofessable desire...
...the theater: a badly water-based map....
...the scenario title: "The Rise of FROGS" !!!

A nice fantasy and building scenario, based in a desert/Egyptian world...

                          Oh, wait!
                          I am working on that!

                          (and a WW2 scenario - )

Totally agree, I loved the units that Stephan (jim) started to do for Eivind's (kobra's) Waterloo scen. A shame they haven't been used anywhere.
