  • Creating Animated ToT units Possible?

    Is it?
I am not delusional! Now if you'll excuse me, i'm gonna go dance with the purple wombat who's playing show-tunes in my coffee cup!
Rules are like Egg's. They're fun when thrown out the window!
Difference is irrelevant when dosage is higher than recommended!

Yes, but it's about as easy as creating animated Civ3 units.

There are lots of those though, Harry, and no ToT ones. I wonder if there's a big difference in the format, or if Civ3 anims can be converted to ToT format easily. I think Merc answered this at one time, but I can't recall.

I think there is a size difference and as I remember it, Civ3 units have more frames in the animation. Of course you could resize and insert by hand if you really want to.

what about simple animations, like 8 different views of an unit, so that it faces whatever direction it is going, no need for any other types of animation.

B_E, that's something that's been overlooked to date. If I understand the Static.spr correctly, it's not beyond the skills of our better artists, although it'd greatly increase the demand on their time.

draw 8 views of a unit and fill up all the animation frames with them, no need for special idiling or attacking animations, just basic animations, if i knew how, i might experiment with nemo unit, mabe add simple flames to the vehicles or have the infantry fall over when they die, basicly crude at best.

I personally don't care for the eight views, it's very disorienting.
