I have returned to end the anarchy and take the throne !! (2005 must be an oedo year). The deadline for posting 2000BC saves is Jan 6th. The hyperactive MGE team is already posting 1000BC saves! Feel free to post before the deadline.

@debeest - No, I don't know how to hide a special. Maybe the large proportion of grass in your homeland caused this.

You hide a special by covering it with Grass. Just seemed like an awful lot of hidden ones on our home island, I thought that was more "tweaking" by our devious dungeonmaster.

I think everyone has posted their 2000BC saves and hindsights. You can pick the team best and continue. The deadline for posting 1000BC saves will be Thurs, Jan 13.

I am impressed by the discussions of both teams.

I'm back, and am available to play either version, and have yet to read either spoiler thread.

If I don't hear a strong response otherwise, I'll read the 2.42 thread sometime late this weekend...

Please join us, OnS - Bloody Monk has not been heard from in a while, so it's just LF and me holding the fort, while the MGE team has 4 players. We need a tie-breaker on our 2000BC save (assuming we cannot proceed on two at once). And we are WAY behind in posts on our spoiler thread!

OnS - I agree. The 2.42 team has made a good start, but they are outnumbered by the MGE team. You can download the two latest 2.42 saves and help your team pick the best one.

OnS, you are welcome as a member of the winning team
                (quality better than quantity )

Please, help us choose the better 2000 save and increase our leadership.

(Bloody Monk wrote about a medical check up a fortnight ago: I'm afraid the results were not fully satisfying )

Perhaps Peaster, as game mod, could post a summary of the positions of each team at each save point? Team242 has reached 1000BC, but only two active players...

It should be 3 active players, since OldnSlow agreed to join us, but today is the last day for 1000Bc saves...

                      The key word was "active"...

Yes, it would probably be interesting for the players to know how the competition is doing. IMHO this is a slight change in the rules, so I'll allow a few days for people to object before I post anything. Maybe the MGE players prefer secrecy...?

IMO what would be interesting would be to read the discussion between the members of the other team (so that we can have a good laugh at the ugly mistakes made by those "golden" people ... and vice versa ).

Why not start a second spoiler thread for each team (for example starting from 1000BC) and allowing members of the other team to read the previous thread after a while (for example after having played to 500BC)?

Guys, I'm having a helluva time D/Ling. Whether downloading a zipped save, or zipping a full save and emailing to my Mac, all I get is bloated text files when I unzip. The game (or the comp) doesn't recognize them, and they don't appear as available files on the list of games I can open.

I've switched to a G3 Cube (Mac) and OSX.3.4. Tried the ZipIt shareware I used to use, and it doesn't help. Posted this issue in the Mac forum, but that's so slow I thought I'd re-post here, hoping there might be a helpful soul about.

                            anyway... hope all are well...

A rabbit unable to unzip is certainly not the kind of rabbit we are happy with.
IIRC grigor is a MacUser and posts here quite often: grigor

I am eager to read the 2.42 thread, and happy to share the MGE thread with our worthy competitors. We've all played to 1000, and I've played to 500, though I haven't posted it yet because no one else appears to be there yet.
