    I don't want to get up early and find we discuss rules for an hour. If we need a modpak let's agree on the settings over the weekend, post it and play ON TIME on your German Tuesday... pls

      yea, to diskuss rules before starting is important. i have no time left now. so i agree to alle rules you make - although i dont like it very much to change the game.txt with other movements, costs and so on.

        Three cities a turn sounds realistic and I support the rule. No limit on how many units outside the city one can destroy.

        No diplo-guiding.

        Increased sea movement is a must to decrease the importance of naval wonders. They are the most important wonders anyway.

        Two settlers start of course, regardless of the level. We're playing a scenario after all.

        I'd say prevent diplos from stealing techs in addition to their increased cost of 60. Spies with all abilities set at say 120.

        Howies should definitely have 1 move. Other than that, they seem fine. Without diplo-guiding it's gonna be hard to use the rail network to really hurt someone.

        I think we should allow free tech trading, but increase cost of technology (100% more expensive). It twif A game we have a ridiculous situation where industrial technologies are being researched in 500 AD.

        The last issue is about wonders. I'd like to see Leo's out of the picture as it is a very powerful and offsetting wonder, both in terms of offence and in terms of defence, well maybe more offsetting in terms of offence. A classic strategy would be mass produce horse, then build Leo's, then research chiv, then leadership and take over the world.

        Another thing is expiry and cost of certain wonders. If we're five and a diplo costs 60, then it's ridiculous to have Marco Polo cost 200. It should be twice as much (400). Also Great Library. It's very powerful. Perhaps it should expire sooner (with Theory of Gravity or University).

          I'll accept whatever rules you finally agree on. I just posted some suggestions. But I want to know that it's all locked down 24 hours ahead of the planned 8pm German Tues night start time. If we need a modpak make sure all the players get it ahead of time. There's nothing worse than turning up on time (even if everyone's on time) and someone saying "I'm getting a path error!"; Or "I didn't know diplos couldn't steal techs!"

            Okay, Lets see about these rules.. They are up for discussion of course.

            Emperer Level-2Settler Start
            3 Cities Captured per civ a Turn
            Increased sea movement 2 (If that works for everyone)
            Slow Science %100
            10 Foreign Caravans.
            Howitzers 1move per turn.

            How do all those sound everyone? Also, I'm in-experianced in making modpacks and the sort. Can someone else do that?

            Also, I'm having trouble figuring out what time i'll be starting. 8PM Germany makes it a 3pm start here?

                    * All ships have increased movement

                    * Howies 1 movement

                    * Tech paradigm twice as slow

                    * Marco Polos costs 400 shields

                    * Leo nullified

                    * Diplos cost 60 shields and spies 120 shields

                    It should be played like a diplo game but planetary conquest IS permitted.....

                            Buz 8 PM Germany time = 2 PM US EST time.

                            But we can delay the start to 9 PM Germany time if all want so deity can sleep one more hour.

                                Hosting and rules

                                I can host if it is wanted. I have a stable ADSL connection. But I take no responsiblities for the mod pack. I suggest deity should do the mod pack.

                                I want so normal game as possible. I know some changes are needed but please keep them to a minimum.

                                We really need to get the GW out of the game.
                                And I think the same for GL and Leo.
