I'm not familiar at all with this world so my advice may be crap. nevertheless I'm looking forward to this fantasy scenario of yours.
A few good suggestions, concurring with what I had in mind:
    - I might suppress the "adventurers" unit
    - I'll probably merge the Knights and Cavalry in the Chivalry Order
    - I'll probably suppress 1 of the 2 demons
    - I'll need to keep the 2 pirates units: 1 for the ship, 1 for the raiders...

    Thanks Arthedain!

No problem. And you know, if you need more help later on, just say so.

Wow, that's a lot of units, are they all gonna be available at the same time, or is there a tech tree?

12 years!?! **** me dead! We'd be lucky if we got one running for a few months. Characters would be dying left, right and centre. Retreat was never an option for our players. Idiots. Guys would be taking out loans (at exorbitant interest rates) from other players to pay for resurrections. It all became quite ridiculous.

            Re: Re: Pomarj, an explanation

@ Arthedain: no doubt I will, thanks!

            @Smiley: yes, many units!

Some will be from the start, other will appear later only!
Most units won't be buildable: you'll get them by events!

And the tech tree will be used to trigger these events (and allow for some improvements building, but not much!).

Glad to see a fellow AD&Der (even if retired, as I am)!

We kept playing on and off for all those years, and what started as disconnected scenarios grew into a kind of campaign, with recurrent NPCs and settings!

And yes, the characters kept dying too, but there was always at least 1 or 2 players who survived, by luck, talent or simply by not being there on the fatidic day! So the new characters were attached to the exsiting (surviving) group!

So you see, we weren't any better than you

The only thing we managed to avoid was the silly resurrection problem you mentioned: it happened for a short while (with players rich enough to hire high level clerics easily), but I soon stopped that by making insane request from NPCs casting high level spells!

Yeah, the longest I ever managed to keep a campaign going was about seven years (at the longest possible stretch of the term "campaign") and that was when I was in Britain where the people don't care if you play D&D as long as you are consenting adults in the privacy of your own home. (I was 11 at the time.)

I recall my brother came up with a surprisingly gritty and mature interpretation of the "Super Mario Bros" world, for AD&D. Something about a sprawling fungal empire on one hand where the air is so hallucinogenic that you will go insane living there too long, and a lizard-king empire on the other bent on developing and industrializing said mushroom kingdom. The human PCs were taking the fight to the lizard empire basically because it was the greater of the two evils. The campaign ended with the destruction of both empires and the supremacy of the humans. Quite the departure from your usual Italian plumber based shenanigans.

              *cough*

Anyway, is Iuz going to be controlling any legions of undead? I know the Pomarj is more Orcs 'n' Goblins, but it might be worth throwing the Flanaess in there too and mixing up two rival Evil Empires.

(I would also suggest putting in the city state of Knurl and having a powerful wizard there from the Zal'honan lineage... extra prizes for guessing this dude's importance!)

And I thought our campaign was getting weird at times!

Yes, having Iuz and his undead would be great! But I'm afraid I'll be severely limited by the number of unit slots available, so I don't know how I can do that...

Of course, there is the possibility of using TOT, but I'll keep that for version 2.0 (n'est-ce pas Gareth...)

Anyway, as the map is restricted to Pomarj and its really close areas, there won't be space for Iuz Empire! But maybe I can stick a few skeletons in...

Anyway, a 2nd Evil Empire will be provided (Ancient Suloise anyone?? )

(I would also suggest putting in the city state of Knurl and having a powerful wizard there from the Zal'honan lineage... extra prizes for guessing this dude's importance!)
Again, Knurl is too far away (Bone March, if I'm not mistaken...) to find a place in the scenario!

As for this mysterious wizard, you'll have to explain how important he is (a former character??)

                  Units

Ok, I've been able to find most of the units I need (80-90% of them ); those are ready or need only a few modifications I hope to be able to do myself!

Nearly all the units I found came from Bitterfrost, ROTK or were done by Fairline!

Now, I wasn't able to find some of the units I need, at least not looking good with the rest of the set.

So could some of you please help for those unit??

Here is what I would need:

                  1) Heroes:
                  - a good looking young mage
                  - a warrior in chain mail wielding a two-handed sword
                  - a heavily armored elven knight

                  2) Elves (led by the afore mentioned knight):
                  - medium cavalry
                  - archers (not forest elves though)

                  3) Miscellaneous:
                  - combat engineers
                  - adventurers (maybe a unit with 2-3 characters on it??)
                  - low level mage (not too colourful)
                  - a horn (like the one used to bring down the walls of Jericho! ) (it was made by Iuz, if this can inspire you...)

And I already have nearly all I need for the bad ones!

I haven't played since I left school, so I'm essentially retired too, unless you include PC titles like the Baldur's Gate, Icewind Dale and Neverwinter Nights series.

Maybe you can use some some of these elves by Eivind (Kobra) and Curt..

Btw Cyrion, do you use MSN messenger?

Nope, I don't include them: for me it's no true RPG if you haven't got real people across the table, whom you can taunt and such!

@Arthedain: thanks my friend, 2 of them will be excellent for the Elvish Cavalry and Archers!

Now if you can help me find the others...

And about MSN, yes, I just reinstalled it (10 minutes ago...) after 3 month of not having it! I just added you (if the hotmail adress I have is correct)!

Arthedain, after some thought, I won't use 2 of your 4 units... but 3!!

The Knight with the lance will be fine for the Elvish knight I needed, thanks!

And I saw you added me, see you online (same time zone, so that should be possible )

                            About the elves sounds great.

About the other units.. you should post three adventure-like units, then someone can resize them for you into one.

Here are some mages, the first one is made by curt, I just did a minor modification 8removed a sword). The second one is also made by him, as is the last one. the third one is made by Curt too, though I added Gandalf's staff and an elf-like head. This was just an impulse thing, as I didn't want him to have that bone head. Also a suggestion how you can modify the units.
Anyways, hope you can use them or modify them to fit your scen.

12 years for one campaign ...

And I thought we were bad!
IIRC the whole 'Against the Giants-Descent into the Depths-Demonweb' series took us about 3.5 years.

Would have been a bit less but having myself as the DM/GM didn't help matters. I just had to throw a Gamma-World crossover in there too.

I used to really love those extra-dimensional gates.
