  • Going Beyond 42 pop.

I know there is a way of setting the controls so that you can build cities beyond 42 pop units and I'm sure someone here could tell me how to do it.

I usually play double resource and find the cities stop growing way too soon.

    Can anyone help me ?

I'm not sure that I understand - there is no gain in building a city beyond size 36 - 20 workers + 16 specialists. -- but the game is happy to allow your cities to get larger than this - I have never heard of a limit at 42.....

I haven't played a double resource game, so I'm not sure how that would affect population growth past size 42.

I am told that a city can be force-fed food caravans to get to size 127 (with a huge food deficit, of course). But as SG[1] says, there is no benefit to any city size in excess of 36 (other than scoring). If you are trying to break the high score record, this is one way to do it.

Its more for scenario purposes, so I'll ask over at Scenario League.

Yeah, 42 is just the irrigated+farmed grasslands 4 Wheat food limit. It may be possible to change food eaten to 1, which would double the food limit.

A scenario with food eaten changed to 3 ... should only be designed by someone weighing more than 200lbs

Isn't 42 the limit with just farmed grasslands, no wheat? 21 squares, four food each?
