  • STARGATE SG1 by Kobayashi

Its been a hectic few months of revision after revision and my SG1 scenario based on the Movie and hit TV series is finally available. It's true to the official timeline, so you will be able

    explore Abydos,
    discover the Tok'ra,
    battle the Goa'uld,
    participate in the Asgard-Replicators conflict
    save Earth from Anubis

I maxed out on the event space and unit slots but unfortunately wasn't able to squeeze in everything that I planned originally.

There are some special features that you guys might enjoy-

A dungeon-type map for quests superimposed on top of a regular space map. It opens up in different stages.

Mostly new units and many new graphics including the set of nine-square planets that I created earlier.

Its available at the top of this thread at civfanatics.
No point waiting for the scenario to be perfect. I've more or less ironed out all the major bugs and so I'm going to release Version 1.0 to you now my friends at Civfanatics. Your feedback is most desired and I'll get round to making a patch for version 1.1 when everyone gives their comments...

    Heh!

I see my Bitterfrost Lich standing on that top left planet!

Gonna give this one a go, as I know Koby's scens always are refreshingly different.

So that's where it came from! I used it for the First Prime units cause it matched the Jaffa that I had ready. Sorry I forgot to mention it in the credits.

I've only played until the end of the film so to speak, but already I can tell this is an exceptional piece of work. I'm going to go out on a limb even though I haven't played it fully through yet and say that this is your best scenario since STW.

Great to see you returning to Civ 2 sci-fi scenarios Kobayashi. There's a chronic shortage of good ones out there, so thanks for redressing the balance.

          I love the sound effects!

A scenario about SG-1? Great idea, Kobayashi!

              DLing...

EDIT: It's not "Jack O'Niel" but "Jack O'Neill"

Damn and here I thought I only spelled Tiel'c (this spelling is probably wrong too) wrongly all the way. So I guess you already gave it a test run. How is it?

p.s. the link to the sound files for Colonies IV is broken in the bestonet - and are Colonies II and II different scenarios or just earlier versions?

                  It's Teal'c.

I didn't, I just saw it at CFC screenshot. I'll test it, but I have a lot of exams this week

                  Thanks

Just earlier versions, but of course there are a lot of differences (even the centuries) between II and IV.

I've left the SCS too much time, but next week I'll try to update it with the scenarios released this summer.

I've been testing it. It seems too difficult to me, but I'll keep trying.

BTW, there are two planets called P5S-117.

Where is it difficult? As the scenario has very little replayability, I actually made it more difficult in progressive versions.

Usually it was difficult for the testers if they missed out on some an important quest object/city. The whole human tech tree is interlaced with these 'event' techs. If you look up X-303 in the civpedia and then trace the tech tree backwards, you'll know what's missing.

I never said I was a good player

I've re-started the game looking for the quests and now I'm going better. I'm having troubles with the ***** AI's Serebus... when they attack my cities I only can defeat them using nukes.

I assume you have atleast done the Apophis/Chulak event.

There is a unit called the Space Shuttle 2 which you can develop pretty early in the game (forgot the pre-requisite). It can fight off the Cerebus.

Another quest slightly later is the Tok'ra Jacob Carter mission. If you complete that, you'll get a free Tok'ra (sub) unit which can jump and make minced meat of any Cerebus.

                            Exceptionally done.

However, I'm getting a bug where Civ2 crashes when I try to load a savefile when playing the scenario. No error message, it just crashes before the "load save" window opens.
oh god how did this get here I am not good with livejournal

you mean the scenario launched ok and when you tried to continue during a second session it crashes?

Does this happen repeatedly or just one time?

Aslo have you got a fully patched CIV MGE version?
