Depending on the format, I could probably save you from humiliation by entering. I'm not too keen on anything that involves being on line at a particular time. And I prefer early landing to conquest, but I'll have a go at bashing the poor AI if that's what people prefer.

PS I prefer 2.42 rather than MGE

Are you a n00b? We don't see you round here that often.

If it's a game of the month you're after then I could be persuaded to give it a go. I'll be vying with you and rjm for last mind you.
I'd prefer conquest to early landing or high scores - I've seen what some of the people here are like for early landings and my gob has been considerably smacked. Still, you can't have a winner unless I'm prepared to turn up and lose! Think up some rules Mark, post and save and give us a time frame (a month?) - I should be able to fit it in.

Well if you post the .sav in vanilla Civ 2 then those with MGE can still use it.

Plus, you don't have to look for the CD.

We have found over time that many folk have ONLY vanilla Civ2. But, due to the "let them eat cake" attitude they have had to endure, they have probably ceased coming here anymore.

Still, the good duke has a point. More could, potentially, participate if the original .sav was from Civ 2.42. Also, if the victory is to be by either, conquest or landing or OCC, ver2.42 would be a bit more accomodative.

Count me in, but don't count on me to be fast about this...(striving to get caught up with many things, including RL.)

hmmm but wouldnt different game versions lead to differences in rules, etc ?

anyway this is all for fun, now i really have to dig into my cd's and find my vanilla civ2 cd...

                            It is a scenario.
You have to defeat the evil Aztecs, Russians, French, etc. within a time limit or be banned from 'poly by the all-powerful MarkG.
Well, you could think of it as a scenario.
