  • Empire of Thessalonike released!!!

    Yes, it is released!

here is the url, i (at least hopefully) have added a link in the modpacks section of apolyton as well:

    http://apolyton.net/upload/view.php?...448_emofth.zip

    notes:

    -read the readme!

    -have fun

this is my second scenario (well the first wasnt really a working scen, but anyway) + i may release a version 1.1 in the future. this is in some respects something like a version 0.9, but it is fun i think as it is. i am looking forward to your comments and i hope that you will have fun playing

    special thanks to:
    Mathias K. (and his DAROE)
Kobra (without him the title.gif wouldnt be working!)
    many others for support!

    Kyriakos Chalkopoulos

The units look really nice. Congratulations on the release, I am not able to download it and comment more right now, though.

Thank you Heresson! The map and city placement couldnt be done without having your scenario, fading lights

I am really looking forward to your own comments on my scen!

There was an unworking set of events, those who were about turn denonimators, this happened because the terrible civ2fw editor had a different syntax (turninterval, turn=x, instead of randomturn, denominator=x) so i fixed that now in the new file i uploaded, but i will post just the text file here as well if you already have the zip of the other files

dl this if you dled my scen before 11pm CET

        this enables:

-new units in random turns for all nations apart from empire of constantinople

        -ottoman threat events

Well i worked on the events even more! (i am a bit over-active with the scen these days!) so same deal, uploaded the scen with the new events, but i will upload just the events.text as well here

            changes since the last version:

-the event given units appear at somewhat less freguent times

-the event given units have negative effects if killed, so the player doesnt have only advantages if he counts mostly on these units!

-ottoman threat boosted up a bit, to make the Byzantine empire (nicaea) more interesting

-new units given to empire of Constantinople and latin kingdoms through events

there is one non-event file change: unit serb knight now has a movement rate of 1 instead of 3, since 3 was too much!

Hi again, i would like to ask if anyone is interested in reviewing my scen

however if you are willing to do so certainly download the scen again, since i made some final (for this version) changes.

these are: (although i may be forgetting some)

-new pretender to the throne events
              -five reworked units
              -three entirely new units
-worse effects for losing bonus units

all in all these changes make all of the nations fun to play, apart from veneto and the latin empire of constantinople. i did this because veneto had to be a naval superpower, and latin emp of constantinople is supposed to collapse sooner or later

              have fun

Perfectionism has rather overemployed me this time...
anyway i will keep away from even more uploading of new versions of my scen.

                  final changes in this version:

-new horses (the very cool horses were found in DAROE)
-empire of Constantinople lombard civil war events + unit

-some other minor unit modifications, new shields for some barbarian units, to give the feel that they are a nation and not just part of the barbarian world

but i have to say people that i am dissapointed, i really expected you to like this scen, oh well, i can't be thinking of whether or not others like what i do, the truth is that a lot of work went into it, and i am sure the units are wonderful, as for the gameplay my main attempt was to have a balance of power that isnt easy to break, without sacrificying playability of many nations while doing that, and i think that i managed to do just that since all nations apart from veneto and latin empire of constantinople are playable and challenging (not an easy thing to do when negotiations are allowed between all apart from latin emp of constantinople)

Downloaded it. But, strangely, something else started downloading then as well. I tried to stop it, don't know if I succeeded. I hope it won't smash my computer.

I hope that you are joking..
it is rather obvious that whatever happened in your dl didnt have anything to do with the scen file itself though (unless you see my scenario as something mystically united with the apolyton database engine & your own computer)

Don't ask me why, but my download failed and I've forgotten to bring a disc today (and the reason why I'm in internet today is your scn). I'll download it again tomorrow.
