Civ2:ToT and WinXP Question

Can anyone help?

I've got Civ2, Test of Time..obviously i guess but I've reinstalled it and it doesn't seem to work anymore

I'm running WinXP fully updated, pretty standard system and was able to play it previously. It checks for the CD, which I have in the drive, brings up the spalsh screen, I get a waiting cursor for a bout ten secs, then nothing...

Are there any XP patches or helpful hints someone has for me please? really begining to miss out on the fantasy option for Civ2

I run ToT on XP myself with no problems. To be honest I can't remember if I had install problems at first though.

One thing I'd suggest is to ensure you have the latest video drivers installed.

Another thing you can try is to right click on the .exe file and see if you can tell XP to run this file in win98 compatible mode.

Thanks for that got it working by right-clicking and telling it to run in Win 200 compatible mode.
